🌊 Fall Shorebirding Excursion – Central IN 

📍 Central Indiana | 🍂 Fall | ⏱ Half/Full Day | 👥 Up to 6 participants

Overview:

Fall is the perfect opportunity to get to see these avian world travelers before they fly back to their South American wintering grounds! We will be stopping at a number of spots in central IN with solid shorebird habitat. Specific locations will change with the presence of mudflats over the Fall. 

Target Species:

• All expected Indiana spring shorebirds (Yellowlegs, dowitchers, and expected peep sandpipers

• Godwits (Marbled and Hudsonian)

• American Avocet

• Western Willet

• Phalaropes (Red and Red-necked)

• Dunlin

• Sanderling

• Ruddy Turnstone

• Large peeps (Baird's and White-rumped Sandpipers)

• Stilt Sandpiper

• Buff-breasted Sandpiper

• Black-necked Stilt

What to Expect:

• Pace & Difficulty: Easy to moderate, flat terrain with roadside and levee birding

• Photography: Excellent opportunities with scopes and telephoto lenses

• Habitats: Wetlands, mudflats, open water

• Walking/Driving Balance: Mostly driving with observation stops

Logistics:

• Meeting location shared after booking

• Will request 15 passenger van if more than 8 sign ups for one tour

• Bring binoculars, spotting scope, sun protection

• Dress for variable fall weather

• Will offer kayak tours for shorebirds if participant brings their own kayak

Booking:

• This tour is offered as a half (3 hour) or full day (6 hour) tour and is open for public or private individuals/groups

All guests must sign a liability waiver before attending a tour. The waiver will be sent out electronically during the scheduling of your tour and must be signed by all participants before your tour to confirm/secure your booking.

Full Day Public Tour - $125 per person

Half Day Private Tour- 85$ per person
